As we started the New Year, plans were made to celebrate the New Millennium here in the village.

The Millenium Celebrations - Tuesday 15th August 2000 at the Cricket Club - a full day of activities - including Barn Dance, Marching Band, Hog Roast, Children's Sports, Cricket Match, Tug-of-War.

Attractive Road Signs - on the three entrances to the village - saying that we are a Royal Charter Village - Edward I gave a Charter in 1306 to the village to hold an Annual Fayre on 15th August.

History of Swynnerton Booklet - there is much to say about the village - the families, the churches - bringing it all together so that we are all better informed about our lovely and interesting village.

So how do YOU get involved ?

Fund Raising - To make all this happen we had to raise some funds.

Race Evening - An evening sponsored by Patrick and Maggie Linehan of the Fitzherbert Arms was held on Saturday 22nd January 2000. The evening was a great success and the sum of £ 438 was raised !

Quiz Evening - For Saturday 26th February 2000, also at the Fitzherbert Arms.

Organisation - We had a small group that met every six weeks or so. A representative of every village-based organisation was invited to each meeting but each and every individual resident was more than welcome to come along as well.
